Che Abdull Kadir has been involved in training, coaching and consulting for more than 20 years which his forte and experience are focusing on Strategic Change Development, Lean Manufacturing Tools, Core & Technical Competency Development, Motivation, Coaching, Assessment Techniques and Managing Change & People with an impressive track record in delivering a result from his previous organisation and project.
Academically he holds a B. Sc. In Mechanical Engineering and Minor in Mathematics from University of Hartford, Connecticut USA.
Che Abdull Kadir started his career in 1992 with NEC Semiconductor (M) Sdn Bhd as Equipment & Process Engineer before being promoted to a Manager position for Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives. Subsequently in 2001, he joined Hicom Teck See Manufacturing as an Operation Senior Manager & Transformation Advisor before he decided to explore on his own as a Principle Consultant under the brand Catalyst Training and Consultancy in 2003. After 7 years’ journey, he decided to return to the corporate world by joining UMW Corporation and now his holding a position as Head of Operation for UMW Training Centre Sdn. Bhd.
Professionally, Che Abdull Kadir is a certified Japan Institute Plant Maintenance (JIPM) TPM Instructor from Atlanta, USA and Tokyo, Japan. An activity the emphasizes on proactive and preventive maintenance to maximize the operational efficiency and productivity. He is also a Certified Competency Management System Instructor from Box Hill College, Australia.
During his tenure with UMW, he has involved and contributed in various project such as establishing the UMW Aerospace Training Academy and developing structured competency framework that is recognized by Rolls Royce and Aerospace International Accreditation Body. He is also a focal person to liaise with PETRONAS in establishing the first Oil & Gas Drilling Academy meant to produce professional drillers and drilling engineers for South East Asia. Aside from that, he has developed and lead a group of trainers with more than 100 line trainers and auditors in developing 5 years’ lean culture change initiative namely Continuous Improvement Program (CIP). This initiative has been well received by UMW Group and it has spreads all over Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak, Singapore, Thailand and Myanmar involving about 4000 employees. He also has been awarded as 2016 National Productivity Champion by Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
Once in a while he will be invited as a guest speaker for several conventions locally and globally such as 2017 International Forum Panel for Best Practices on Future Talent to Drive Productivity organized by International Productivity Organization (IPO), Guest Speaker in 2017 Aerospace Talent Development Convention together with AirAsia COO for Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology and Invited as Guest Speaker in International Association Drilling Contractors (IADC) Asia Pacific conference in Marina Bay Sand Convention Centre, Singapore.
